As of 1990 the population was 4,336 and has grown to 6,360 as of 2005. Its county
seat has always been Lovelock, along with the county stretching across 6,009

The Marzen House Museum features antiquities from pioneer homes, Immigrant Trail,
and artifacts from the prehistoric era and Indian caves; also houses local Chamber
of Commerce. Located 7 miles west of Lovelock, this is the site of a golf course
which is currently under construction and also a photographer’s paradise of
giant deposits from ancient Lake Lahontan. Last but not least, hunting includes
pheasant, deer, quail, chukkar, rabbit and dove. There is duck and geese hunting
in the valley.
